During the spring of 2020 while in the midst of COVID lockdown, I would connect with friends via zoom. One day a group of us were meeting including Melanie. She was sitting in a room beside a window with such beautiful light coming in. I quickly took some screenshots of her bathed in this beautiful light. Afterwards I asked if she would mind if I used the images to paint her portrait and she agreed.
