After long dark winters, watching the first fronds of ferns emerges is a promise of the new life of spring. I am inspired by nature. We can learn so much by looking into nature not only at nature. I paint to capture snippets of the wonders that can carry me from season to season. The ferns were painted on Uart with an underpainting of watercolor. Great American, and Richeson pastels created the mood and detail of the ferns with the help of Conte pastel pencils.
