The inspiration for this piece was another early morning drive to catch the sunrise. This was a beautiful foggy morning in Camden Maine and I wanted to capture the peaceful quality of the warm sun and fog. This was another large 24x36 piece on sanded pastelbord - my favorite surface. I used a wash for underpainting the sky and blocking in the darks and lights of the foreground.
