I wanted to paint the abandon with which children play in the ocean, and really just mirror their playfulness in the water. The water in this painting was a lot of fun to paint, I let the colors flow and tried to keep it light and without much planning. The various blues contrast against the warm skintones of the children and again bring focus to their play.
This painting was done without an underpainting and I wanted the strokes to be bold and spontaneous. The original painting was done on La Carte paper and fixed with Lascaux.
